In an effort to keep the public informed on the investigation of a recent death in Torrington, authorities there have issued a rare statement regarding the ongoing investigation.
Last Friday morning, officers conducted a welfare check at 600 East 18th Avenue in Torrington, and forced entry into the home after finding exigent circumstances.
Inside, they found the resident, 56-year-old Troy Ouderkirk deceased, and determined he had been dead for some time.
Police Chief Matt Johnson told KNEB News his department and the Goshen County Coroner’s Office are still investigating, confirming a timeline and awaiting toxicology results, however, at this time foul play is not suspected.
Anyone with information on Mr. Ouderkirk’s passing who hasn’t talked with an investigator is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Pat Connelly at 307-532-7001.
Johnson said this is a challenging time for the family and friends of Mr. Ouderkirk, and asked people to keep them in their thoughts during this Holiday Season.
