The agenda for the Scotts Bluff County Board meeting Monday afternoon contained an unexpected item that says long-time County Assessor Amy Ramos has submitted her resignation.
Ramos was appointed to the post nearly 15 years ago, and it’s not clear if her decision to step down is effective immediately or slated to take place at a future date.
It’s anticipated commissioners would soon begin the process of accepting applications for appointment of a successor to fulfill the remainder of Ramos’ current term, which expires at the end of next year.
Other potential changes for the board will also be on the agenda, as commissioners will vote on a chair and vice-chair, as well as determine appointments to various boards and committees as part of reorganization.
