1 in 4 Heartland Children are Food insecure, and don’t have access to needed meals. That’s according to Food Bank for the Heartland Communications Manager Angie Grote, who says they have seen a rise in the percentage of those needing help.
Those coming to a Pantry should stay in their vehicle as volunteers will load boxes into their cars.
Grote tells KTIC News people can learn more about Food Bank for the Heartland and how to help by visiting their website.
Grote says Food Bank for the Heartland is hosting a drive up Community Food Drive on Saturday, December 5th at the Omaha location, collecting non-perishable items.
She tells KTIC News what items they are most in need of.
Grote says monetary donations can be made at the event, or online at foodbankheartland.org.
Food Bank for the Heartland can be found on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
