York girls T&F wins Class B

The York High School girls track and field team wins the 2021 Class B state title. The Lady Dukes scored 63 team-points and won by one-half point over Elkorn North. Brynn Hirschfeld of York clinched two state titles in the 800 meter run and the 1600 meter run. Melanie Dreever of York won the girls pole vault with a jump of 11 feet.

On the boy’s side in Class B state track. Hastings wins the team title, McCook and Norris finished second and third. Aurora came in fifth and Seward finished 8th. Gabe Griffith of Aurora won shot put with a throw of 55 feet 8 inches and discuss throwing 174 feet 8 inches to take gold medals. 

In Class C track and field Nathan Baldwin of Sutton won gold in the shot put with a throw of 52 feet 4 inches. Aquians Catholic boys team won the title in Class C. Chase County won Class C girls track and field.
