SUTTON-The Sutton American Legion juniors moved to 3-0 Friday night as they beat BDS 16-2 in five innings. After BDS went 1-2-3 in the top of the first, Sutton opened things up in the bottom of the first sending 14 batters to the plate scoring a total of ten runs.
Eli Noel got roughed up in the inning. After surrendering hits to the first to Mustang hitters, he walked four of the next five batters including a hit batsman. Noel was pulled in the inning after only getting one out.
Jaron Norder took over on the hill and gave up three hits and a walk before finally striking out Drew Goracke to retire the side. Garrett Bonnell cruised to the easy victory taking the mound in the top of the second with a 10-0 lead.
Bonnell gave up only two runs on five hits, one walk, while fanning 10 in five innings. Tanner Bolte was the only BDS player to have multi-hits going 2-2 in the game. Myles Jones, Dawson Ohrt, and Paxton Olsen each went 2-3 for Sutton.
Sutton doesn’t play again until Tuesday when they face Fairfield in a double header. BDS plays Fairbury Saturday, and Wilbur Sunday.
