Suspicious vehicle leads to drug arrest

At approximately 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, a Kearney Police Department K-9 Officer was on routine patrol, when he observed a suspicious vehicle parked near a storage facility in the 1600 block of 30th Avenue and saw two adult male subjects standing outside the car.  The officer recognized one of the male subjects as being Gino Main (age 32) and knew that Main had active warrants for his arrest from York County, Nebraska (Fail to Appear), and another warrant from Dawson County, Nebraska (Theft by Shoplifting).       

During the arrest and subsequent search of Gino Main, officers located several items of drug paraphernalia, scales, marijuana, and a large quantity of methamphetamine (approximately one pound).  He was also found to be in possession of a large amount of cash.   

Main was arrested and transported to the Buffalo County Jail on the following charges:   1) Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, 2) possession with intent to distribute marijuana, 3) possession of drug funds, and the two arrest warrants (Dawson County & York County).   Additionally, he was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.
