The Rural Radio Network (RRN) team is excited to welcome Ella Stiefvater as their 2024 summer intern.

Stiefvater, a junior agricultural communications major at South Dakota State University, is no stranger to agriculture. Growing up immersed in organizations like 4-H and FFA, Stiefvater has placed emphasis on developing her leadership skills within the industry. In fact, she even served as a 2022-23 South Dakota State FFA Officer.

Throughout the summer, she will conduct interviews, write stories, and create content for the RRN. Stiefvater will be based out of the Nebraska Soybean Board Studios at Nebraska Innovation Campus in Lincoln.

Since 2015, four former RRN interns have accepted full-time roles within the company. The internship provides college students with an in-depth experience of agriculture broadcasting, allows them to contribute to RRN programming, and equips them with tools to create meaningful work.

“I’m really looking forward to spending my summer with the Rural Radio Network learning from the incredible team and developing the skills to become a full-fledged farm broadcaster,” Stiefvater said.

Stiefvater’s internship is made possible with support from the NAFB Foundation, which offers internship grants to member stations and networks.

“We’re thrilled to add Ella to our team this summer,” said RRN Operations Manager Bryce Doeschot. “She has a strong agriculture background and great communication skills. She’s going to be an outstanding contribution to our force.”
