MCCOOK- A great clash of Class B titans at Weiland Field in McCook, Nebraska saw the
Seward Bluejays pull out a 24-17 victory in the final minutes of the game.
McCook was driving in the final minutes to tie but fumbled and Seward was able
to improve to 4-0 on the season. Seward and McCook were evenly matched as
they battled the whole game. McCook was led by quarterback Adam Dugger who
threw two touchdowns to the twins Lucas and Jacob Gomez-Wilson for their only
scores. Seward quarterback Gavin Sukup was able to move the Bluejay offense up
and down the field and scored on their first three possessions. The Seward
defense bent but did not break as McCook drove in the final minutes to score
with Luke Wegman knocking the ball away from Dugger to seal the win. McCook
falls to 2-2 on the season. Next up for Seward at home is a big match up with
Hastings on Friday at Bulldog Stadium on the campus of Concordia University.
