Seward was able to hold off Roncalli Catholic in a first round game of the Class B
District at Bulldog Stadium on Concordia University in Seward, 21-19. Seward
rushed to touchdowns from Nolan Hill, Trevor Ruth, and Gavin Sukup. Roncalli’s
speedy half-back Darik Rodgers scored all three touchdowns. A missed point after
forced the Crimson Pride to go for two points in the final seconds. The attempt
was denied by Seward in the end zone. Seward improves to 8-2 and will take on
powerhouse Elkhorn (9-1) in Omaha next Friday.
