Osceola, McCool Junction take CRC Titles

(York, NE) – It was championship Friday at the York City Auditorium, as the 2024 Crossroads Conference basketball tournament culminated with a pair of repeating champions.
In the girls final, McCool Junction topped Cross County, 44-37 claiming their second consecutive championship and their fourth overall CRC title. McKenna Yates scored a game-high 14 points for the Mustangs, while Briann Stutzman added 11 with second-half hot shooting. Stutzman drained three 3-pointers after intermission. Shyanne Anderson scored 11 points to lead the Cougars.

In the nightcap, Kale Gustafson scored 32 points to lead Osceola past Cross County in the boys CRC title game. Gustafson came alive with 20 second half points as the Bulldogs held off a fourth quarter comeback attempt by the Cougars. Brayden Santos added nine for Osceola, who wins the CRC tournament for a second straight year, and the third time in their history. Cross County was led by Tanner Hollinger’s 12 points.
