Organizers of an effort to place Medical Marijuana on the November election ballot say their petition drive is in jeopardy of falling short of the necessary signatures by the July 7th deadline.
Campaign Manager Crista Eggers says they need at least 35,000 Nebraskans signing their petitions over the next several days of their campaign. Eggers’ son suffers from drug resistant epilepsy.
State Senator Anna Wishart, an organizer of the petition drive, says they will have dozens of circulators across the state over the weekend.
Meanwhile, petition signatures in another petition drive are set to be delivered to the Secretary of State’s Office on Thursday. Raise the Wage Nebraska will submit more than 130,000 signatures to raise Nebraska’s minimum wage to $15 by 2026.
