Minden Fire Department was called out around 2:15am Tuesday to a structure fire on the Crossroads Welding property east of Minden. Fire Chief Tom Brown says the fire occurred in a former beef processing plant building that had been converted to a residence.
Brown said it wasn’t until about 5 hours later before they could safety enter and put out the remaining hot spots.
Brown said there was no one inside the residence at the time and it is considered a total loss. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal but, Brown says the preliminary indications was that the cause was not suspicious in nature.
