Last second score boosts Seward over Beatrice
October 10th, 2021 | Gerald Meyer

A bullet pass from Gavin Sukup to Micah Hackbart in the end zone with 9 seconds left on the clock topped off an exciting come from behind Seward win against Beatrice, 28-26, to improve their record to 6-1 for the season.

Beatrice was led by senior standout Elliot Jurgens who scored all the touchdowns for the Orangemen.

A missed PAT would come back to haunt them as they led at half, 20-14.

Gavin Sukup led the Bluejays with 2 TD’s on the ground. The Bluejays defended the Orangemen’s vaunted Maryland “I” offense with a powerful “Heavy Front” that caused the offense to spread out which favored the speed of the Bluejay’s Linebackers and Defensive Backs and Safeties. York is the next team up at home in Seward on Friday, October 15. Beatrice falls to 5-2 on the season.
