CRC Saturday Recap – All sweeps in the first rounds of Crossroads Conference Volleyball

The first round of the Crossroads Conference volleyball tournament ended Saturday with every team sweeping their way to first round wins. Four teams remain for the CRC semifinals on Monday – Meridian, Dorchester, Cross County and BDS.

The #1 seed Meridian had a first round bye and in the second round took down #9 Osceola, after Osceola’s win over #8 Hampton in the first round. #4 Dorchester moved to the semifinal after a 2-0 set win over #5 High Plains. Dorchester will take on Meridian for the late semifinal in the York City Auditorium Monday at 7:30pm.

To the other side of the bracket, in the first round #6 Shelby Rising-City beat #11 East Butler 2-0 and moved to the second round to play #3 Cross County. Cross County, as defending CRC champions, moved to the semifinals after a sweep of Shelby Rising City. The Cougars will rematch with #2 BDS, after edged #7 Nebraska Lutheran in both sets to advance. Nebraska Lutheran beat #10 McCool Junction in two sets.

Cross County and BDS was last year’s CRC final, won by the Cougars in five sets. In the 2023 tournament, the two teams will battle in the first semifinal on Monday with first serve is at 6pm. Dorchester and Meridian will battle following the first match. Both games are on 104.9 Max Country, and on Striv TV.
