KEARNEY – Gubernatorial candidate Jim Pillen was joined by former Nebraska Governor Kay Orr and Governor Pete Ricketts on Tuesday for Pillen’s campaign fly-around to announce Governor Ricketts has endorsed him.

The group announced the news in Lincoln before flying to Norfolk, Kearney, North Platte and Omaha.

Pillen addressed a crowd of about 50 people at Kearney Regional Airport Tuesday afternoon.

Pillen is a conservative Republican from Columbus, is a livestock producer who owns Pillen Family Farms, and has served on the University of Nebraska Board of Regents since 2012.

The gubernatorial candidate spoke about what his campaign focus is including tax relief, expanding agriculture and reducing spending. Pillen also plans to build on the foundation Rickett’s administration has established.

Former Gov. Kay Orr, who was the first to endorse Pillen, opened up the event with her thoughts in support of Pillen.

Pillen closed out the event. Below is his full speech.
