OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ Union Pacific Corp. (UNP) on Thursday reported third-quarter earnings of $1.67 billion.
The Omaha, Nebraska-based company said it had net income of $2.57 per share. The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.48 per share. The railroad posted revenue of $5.57 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $5.38 billion.
