Oxford-The Southern Valley Girls basketball team looks to keep the momentum going on Thursday night as the 8th ranked Eagles in Class C-2 meet up with 10-5 Southwest in the East Semifinals of the RPAC tournament. Southern Valley improved to 12-2 on Monday with a win over Cambridge in the Quarterfinals. Head coach Richard McDonald talked this week with KRVN’s Jayson Jorgensen about this rematch.
The Eagles have won nine in a row and beat Southwest earlier this year 60-33. Southern Valley’s only losses this year have been to Minden and Ravenna who are a combined 30-4 on the season. Junior Ann Bose is averaging 21ppg, while Brynn Bailey and Tori Bose are each at 9ppg. Tip off is set for 7:45pm in Bertrand. The West Semifinals feature undefeated and state ranked Maywood/Hayes Center vs Wauneta Palisade at 7:45pm in Paxton. The Girls and Boys finals are set for Saturday at MCC in McCook.
