May 20th, 2022 | Jayson Jorgensen

Lincoln-There will be a noticeable change to the NSAA state girls and boys basketball tournaments. Today (Friday) the NSAA board of control voted to move to a four day tournament next season. The move means all games will either be played at the Pinnacle Bank Arena or at the Devaney Center. In the past, quarterfinal games in Classes C1-D2 where played at Lincoln High schools. Starting next year each of the girls and boys state tournaments will start on Wednesday and run through Saturday. The only games that will now be played at Lincoln High schools will be 3rd place games in the smaller classes. A survey sent out this spring to member schools revealed a preference for a four day tournament instead of just three.
