Kearney —  The Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) and the Nebraska Rural Health Association (NeRHA) are co-hosting the 2022 Spring Forum and Rural Health Clinic Conference at the Younes Center North in Kearney on May 25-26, 2022. A dynamic slate of speakers and presenters will provide hospital and health care leaders with key information and resources applicable to both hospital and clinic settings. Over 350 health care leaders from across Nebraska are anticipated for this premier event.

Headlining the event is Julie Austin, an internationally known thought leader on the topic of innovation, who will speak on the topic of workforce recruitment and retention.

George H. Pink, Ph.D., a nationally known expert on rural health care, will provide an overview of the rural emergency hospital model, a new facility category created in 2021 through the Consolidated Appropriations Act.

In addition, Alan Morgan, CEO of the National Rural Health Association will address the conference with an update on the current rural health landscape, the impact of COVID19 on rural communities as well as regulatory issues impacting rural hospitals and clinics.

“We’re excited to join forces with the NHA to offer this robust conference to our members,” remarked Jed Hansen, Executive Director, NeRHA. “This will be a great opportunity for our two associations to bring our health care leaders together and have meaningful dialogue about the challenges we face – from workforce to reimbursement and everything in between.”

Jeremy Nordquist, President of the NHA, echoed Hansen’s comments. “It makes perfect sense for our two organizations to be aligned and host this event together. Both the NHA and NeRHA are leading efforts to protect and strengthen health care in rural communities. We at the NHA are very much looking forward to this event and I know our members are eager to get back together in person.”
