For the first time since 1975, Minden Post 94 has qualified for the Nebraska American Legion State Senior Baseball tournament. Minden earned its spot after finishing second to Broken Bow in the B6 Area Tournament this week. Head coach Dan Wilson talked with KRVN’s Jayson Jorgensen about the season.

One of Minden’s strengths is the pitching staff that includes Brennan Runge, Carter Harsin, Tony Arner, Nolan Reed, Jasper Birkestrand and Ethan Morgan who have combined for an ERA under 4.00. At the plate, Minden who is 15-9 has a team average of 282. Leading Minden is Austin Lutkemeier who is hitting 333, Evan Smith is hitting 327, Nolan Reed has a 313 average and Rylan Holsten is hitting 308. Minden who lost to Broken Bow 8-5 in the District Final will play Broken Bow on Saturday at 3pm in the first round of state. Four players from Axtell also help comprise the roster for Minden.
