HOLDREGE – It was another tough night that showed a lot of promise before ultimately ending in an 8 run defeat for First State Bank of Holdrege. Minden First Bank improved to 11-1 on the season, while Holdrege fell to 3-8. The final score was 10-2.

Carter Harsin took the mound for Minden and never gave it up as he threw for 10 strikeouts in just 5 innings. Minden was able to score four runs in the first inning before Holdrege pitcher, Dylan Haag, settled in to blank Minden in the 2nd inning. Despite a momentum shift in the middle of the game, Holdrege was unable to keep Minden down for long. Tate Florell took over in the 4th inning and looked sharp. The 5th inning ended up being too much for Holdrege as they gave up 4 more runs.

Holdrege could only manage 4 hits, but they were big ones. Dashton Edgren and Clay Bohr each came up with extra-base hits. Bohr was able to get an RBI in the 4th inning to put Holdrege back in the game. Bohr’s job behind the plate as catcher, along with the RBI double, were enough to earn him tonight’s Husker Irrigation Player of the Game.

First State Bank will play host to Ogallala on Sunday at 3:30. That game will be on KUVR with the Holdrege Market Place pregame show scheduled for 3:20.
