HOLDREGE – Annually, the Holdrege Optimist Club selects an individual to be honored who exemplifies outstanding law enforcement attributes and dedication to serving the public in this capacity.

This year’s recipient is Noah Stewart for his distinguished and dedicated service to Holdrege. A graduate of Holdrege High School in 2011, Stewart joined the National Guard in the Fall of 2011. He then went on to the University of Nebraska at Kearney, graduating in May of 2016 after studying Criminal Justice and a minor in Military Sciences.

Stewart is currently a member of the Nebraska National Guard with a rank of First Lieutenant. Stewart began his local law enforcement career in October 2018 at the Holdrege Police Department after graduating from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center on April 17, 2019.

The Holdrege Optimist Club recognizes a law officer every year in conjunction with the ‘Respect for Law Week’ to encourage peace and harmony within communities. This is the fourth most popular Optimist activity with more than 1500 clubs participating each year.
