He is the 30th recipient of the William, Betty Rae and Erin Whitlock Memorial Scholarship, which was initially set up in memory of Mr. and Mrs. William Whitlock, longtime residents of Holdrege. They owned and operated KUVR radio station and were very active in the community. Their children, Erin and Mike, established the scholarship in their name to assist a well-rounded and deserving student planning to continue their education at an institute of higher learning. Erin passed away in 2011 and her name was added to this scholarship.
