KEARNEY – University of Nebraska at Kearney Pole Vaulter and Holdrege native Baylie Bryant broke a seven-year old mark in the pole vault on Sunday at the Loper Invitational Sunday evening at Kearney High School.
Bryant cleared 12-3.25 as Bryant came in second by clearing the height on her final attempt. The previous record holder was Brooke Frederick at 12-2.75, owning the record since April 2014.
The new mark ranks Bryant 38th nationally and 10th in the MIAA.
As a Duster, Bryant was a two-time Class B state qualifier in the pole vault and placed fourth at state in 2017.
