The Holdrege Dusters were well prepared for a physical game against the C1 #7 Adams Central Patriots. The first half saw two balanced teams endure hard-hitting play on the gridiron en route to a 9-7 halftime score. Adams Central took a 9-0 lead before Duster Head Coach Jacob Mclain threw some creativity at the Patriots. Running back Cade Kirwan connected with receiver Zac Sundquist on a 62-yard touchdown that caught the Patriot defense off guard. It would be the only time the Dusters would find the end zone, however. Adams Central took control in the second half and won 30-7. In the end, the Patriots balanced attack and quick defense proved to be a little too much for Holdrege.
Holdrege fell to 1-1 and will head to Central City on Friday, September 9. KUVR will have the broadcast starting with the pregame at 6:40 pm.
