Dusters Enjoy Success at Cozad Cross Country Meet

In their first meet of the year, the Holdrege Dusters had a great showing. Holdrege traveled to the Cozad Country Club on Saturday, September 3.

The girls placed one in the top 15 with Junior Kaitlyn Jewett finished in 14th with a time of 23:46. Freshman Margot Sturtevant ran a 26:08, while Junior Kelsey Komenda had a time of 26:25, and Senior Chloe Newth recorded a 27:08. The girls finished in sixth place as a team.

The boys placed second as a team, anchored by two Dusters who placed in the top ten. Junior Nikolas Schrock was the individual runner-up posting a 17:55, and Senior Justin Golus placed sixth with a time of 18:21. The remaining Duster results are:

13: Michael Golus, Freshman 18:51

17: Brady VanBoening, Senior 18:53

21: Konnor Krause, Freshman  19:15

31: Roman Urbom, Freshman  19:49

Holdrege will head to Lincoln on Thursday, September 8 to compete in the Lincoln Pius X Invitational held at Pioneer Park.
