On Thursday, the Holdrege Duster Cross Country Team traveled to the Elks Country Club in Hastings for their district competition. The Duster boys earned the C-4 District Team Championship. The first place finish qualifies the team for the state meet on Friday, October 21st.
Head Coach Stephanie Fuehrer said, “They all ran extremely well, especially for the windy conditions.”
The Duster boys finished ahead of Aurora and Fillmore Central, who also qualified for state. Nik Schrock ran a 17:37 which was good enough for 3rd place individually. Justin Golus and Brady VanBoening also placed in the top 15. They finished a mere .34 seconds apart with Golus finishing in sixth place just ahead of VanBoening at seventh place.
