Class D-District 6 & 7 Track and Field Results

NEBRASKA – Class D track meets were held in Kenesaw and Bertrand on Wednesday with area athletes competing to earn a spot at Burke Stadium in Omaha for next week’s State Track and Field Championships.

To automatically qualify for the State Championships, the following criteria must be met:

  • INDIVIDAUL RUNNING EVENTS: The winners of the first TWO places in each event will qualify, followed by the next SIX fastest times. A maximum of 24 qualifiers are eligible.
  • RELAY EVENTS: The winners of the FIRST place in the event will qualify for the state meet. The next SEVEN fastest times of the non-qualifiers, regardless of place in a finals event, with a maximum of 16 relay teams qualifying.
  • FIELD EVENTS (Long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus): The first TWO places in each event will qualify for the state meet, followed by the next SIX best performances of non qualifiers in all-districts.
  • FIELD EVENTS (Pole Vault, High jump): The first TWO places in each event will qualify for the state meet, plus all who equal or exceed the additional qualifier mark at the 2021 NSAA Class D District Track Meet. The additional qualifier mark is determined by using the average height of 8th place at the State Meet for the past 3 years.

In the Class D-District 6 meet in Kenesaw, Axtell won both the girls and boys meet convincingly. The Axtell girls had 129 total points while the the boys had 122 points.

DISTRICT 6 TRACK AND FIELD RESULTS

In the Class D-District 7 meet in Bertrand, Cambridge won the girls title with 133 overall points. Loomis was second with 79. Bertrand won the boys side with 103 points, edging Dundy County Stratton with 85 points.
