Betty J. Dodds, age 89, of Alma

     Funeral Services for Betty J. Dodds will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Huntley, Nebraska with Pastor Dave Mendyk officiating.  A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the Washington City Cemetery in Washington, Kansas.

     Betty Jean Dodds, 89 years of age, of Alma, Nebraska, died, on April 9, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Society in Alma.  Betty was born on December 7, 1931, the first of two children, born to Frank J. and Helen (Jindra) Anton.  

     On August 27, 1955, Betty was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Dodds at Goodland, Kansas and to this union two children were born: Robert Wayne and Brenda.  The family first made their home in Geneva, and then in 1967, they moved to Harlan County, Nebraska where Betty raised chickens and milked cows on their farm.

     Betty was a member of the United Methodist Church in Huntley, Nebraska.

     Besides her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by: her son Paul Dodds, and sister Darlene Turek.

     Betty is survived by: son, Robert Wayne Dodds and his wife, Sherri of rural Huntley; daughter, Brenda Cheng and her husband, Reeve of Rosemead, California; one granddaughter, Tryn Cheng of Rosemead; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. 

     There will be no visitation. 

     A memorial has been established in Betty’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
