Wayne State hosts Minnesota State in an NSIC South Division football game Saturday afternoon with kickoff for the annual homecoming game set for 1 p.m. at Bob Cunningham Field in Wayne. Both teams are 4-1 on the season while WSC is 0-1 in the NSIC South with this being the divisional opener for the Mavericks. Last week, WSC lost their first game of the season at Winona State 38-14 while MSU registered a 25-15 win at Concordia-St. Paul. Minnesota State is 12-1 all time against Wayne State but the Wildcats posted their first-ever win over the Mavericks last season with a 35-24 win over #11 Minnesota State thanks to a 28-point fourth quarter rally.
