West Point-Beemer drops Softball contest to Boone Central in Albion

ALBION – The West Point-Beemer Softball Team fell 16-3 in 3 innings at Boone Central Thursday evening in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The Cadets struck for two runs in the top half of the 1st inning as Cali Gardes drove in Molly Winn with an RBI Single, and later scored on an RBI Single off the bat of Saige Miserez.

The Cardinals responded with 8 runs in the bottom of the inning as the first 7 batters to come to the plate all scored in the inning for Boone Central.

The Cardinals added 8 more runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning, and held West Point-Beemer to just one run in the top of the 3rd inning to win by the 12-run mercy rule.

Ashtyn Hedlund was the winning pitcher for Boone Central, giving up 3 runs on just 2 hits in 3 innings of work.

Miserez suffered the loss on the mound for the Cadets as she gave up 16 runs in 2 innings of work.

West Point-Beemer falls to 1-22 on the season and takes part in the East Husker Conference Tournament in West Point on Saturday while the Cardinals improve to 9-15 and host GACC and Hastings St. Cecilia in a Triangular on Monday.
