SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – After playing a pivotal role in Omaha’s back-to-back comeback victories last week, Grace Cave has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Performer of the Week.
On Thursday, Cave led the Mavericks with 18 points, shooting 5-for-7 (.714) and going 3-for-3 from behind the arc to help erase a 13-point deficit and guide the team to victory over St. Thomas. She also recorded six rebounds and three steals during the contest.
Then, on Saturday, with the Mavericks again trailing at the half, Cave turned in another game-changing performance, shooting 5-for-8 (.625) and leading the team with six assists. Defensively, she pulled down seven total rebounds and had two steals, including the play of the season when she managed to knock down the ball on a Western Illinois inbound and promptly find a wide open Aaliyah Stanley who made the game-winning layup with seven seconds left.
This is the first weekly honor of Cave’s career.
