UNO Women release Non-Conference Schedule

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha women’s basketball announced its 2022-23 non-conference schedule Friday morning. The schedule features 11 games, including five home games and two power-five opponents.

The season tips-off at in-state rival Nebraska on Monday, Nov. 7. The Huskers posted a 24-9 overall record last season and earned an at-large bid to the big dance. They are one of two NCAA Tournament opponents on the non-conference schedule the Mavericks will face.

Omaha will return to Baxter Arena for four straight home games. First up, the Mavericks will play Wichita State on Nov. 12 followed by Weber State on Nov. 16. Omaha welcomes NAIA member Peru State on Nov. 19.

The Mavericks host city rival Creighton on Nov. 22 to conclude the home stand. The Bluejays wrapped the 2021-22 season at the 23-10 mark. They made a historic run in the NCAA Tournament that came to an end in the Elite Eight.

The next four games are played on the road beginning in Nashville. The Mavericks will take on the Tennessee State Tigers on Nov. 27. They will then head to California for a pair of games at Pepperdine (Dec. 1) and Cal Bakersfield (Dec. 4).

The road trip wraps up at Mizzou on Dec. 9. The Tigers posted an 18-13 overall record. After falling in the opening round of the SEC Tournament, they faced Drake in the opening round of the WNIT where their season came to an end.

Omaha’s non-conference home schedule comes to an end vs. Saint Mary on Dec. 11. One final road game will be played at Northern Colorado on Dec. 16.

The Summit League portion of the schedule will be released the first week of August.
