UNO Women lose to Oral Roberts

Omaha, NE. – The Omaha Mavericks fell 64-55 to Oral Roberts Thursday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Katie Keitges was the lone Maverick in double digits with 10 points.

Leaders For Omaha
Keitges led the Mavericks with 10 points including two buckets from beyond the arc. She scored eight of her ten in the first quarter. Freshman Alexis Pratt and Grace Cave each chipped in nine points for Omaha including one three-pointer for Cave. Josie Filer led the Mavericks on the boards with eight rebounds.

Leaders for Oral Roberts
Four different Golden Eagles hit double digit point totals. Delaney Nix led the way with 15 points, all from behind the three point line. Ariel Walker chipped in 14 points including three shots from deep. Katie Scott and Tirzah Moore also reached double digits with 10 and 12 points respectively.

Team Stats
Omaha outshot the Golden Eagle by a significant margin, the Mavericks shot 45.5 (20-44) percent from the field to Oral Roberts 34 (18-53) percent. Oral Roberts outshot the Mavericks from the three point line however draining nine threes to the Mavericks four.

Inside the First Quarter
Omaha kicked off the scoring with a Katie Keitges steal and breakaway layup. Keitges scored 8 points in the quarter with two shots from beyond the arc. The Mavericks took advantage of the early lead and took a 15-13 lead into the second.

Inside the Second Quarter
Both teams started the second quarter slow, scoring just two points in the first 3:50 of the period. Four Maverick free throws and five points from Kennedi Grant led to a 26-25 lead at the half.

Inside the Third Quarter
Omaha kicked off the second half with buckets from Grace Cave and Alexis Pratt to push the lead to five. Oral Roberts responded with a quick 6-0 run to take the lead. The Mavericks would respond with an 8-3 run of their own to end the quarter good for a 42-38 lead.

Inside the Fourth Quarter
The Golden Eagles started the quarter on an 9-4 run including six points from Walker, to take a 47-46 lead. Josie Filer ended the Oral Roberts run with a layup to push the Mavericks back ahead 48-47. Oral Roberts then went on a 13-2 run to take control of the game on the way to the win.

Next Up
The Mavericks will head to Kansas City to take on the Roos Saturday at 2 p.m.
