Pender Seniors Open State Tournament with Loss to PWG

WAKEFIELD – A six-run sixth inning powered Palmer-Wolbach-Greeley 10-3 over Pender in the first round of the Class C Senior Legion State Baseball Tournament on Saturday in Wakefield, in a game aired on 107.9 The Bull.

PWG scored one run in the second inning and three more in the third, taking a 4-0 lead.

Pender cut their deficit in half by scoring twice in the fifth inning, making it 4-2.

Pender added another run in the top of the sixth to make it a one-run game at 4-3.

But PWG erupted for six runs in the bottom half of the six inning, increasing their lead to 10-3, which would go on to be the final.

PWG advances in the winner’s bracket to play Albion on Sunday at 4:00.

Pender now falls to the elimination bracket and will face Crofton at 10:00 Sunday morning.
