The 1st Annual Corky Malmberg Science Day was held at Pender Public Schools on Friday.
Corky Malmberg was a Science Teacher at Pender for 34 years, and retired in 2010 before passing away in 2019. Current Teacher Sheila Dahlman, who used to teach with Mrs. Malmberg, says she was a remarkable person and teacher.

Things kicked off Friday morning with a Wildlife Encounters Presentation, where students learned about and saw 6 different animals with a handful of students chosen to come up and touch the animals that ranged from a Kangaroo to a Boa Constrictor and Alligator, and Armadillo.
Prior to Wildlife Encounters, students heard from Superintendent Jason Dolliver as well as Sam and Julie, Corky Malmberg’s son and daughter.
