CRESTON, Iowa – Lauren Kavan (Cedar Bluffs, Neb.) and Rachel Ecklund (Overton, Neb.) each had nine kills on Wednesday night as the Northeast Community College volleyball team toppled Southwestern Community College in three sets, 25-19, 25-14 and 25-21 in Creston, Iowa.

The Hawks (9-19, 4-3 ICCAC) made quick work in the first two sets, allowing less than 20 points in each set. The Hawks hit a blistering .379 in the first set. The Spartans made a slight adjustment in the third set, but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Hawks’ offensive attack.

Danielle Wadsworth (Wolbach, Neb.) chipped in eight kills and 14 digs, while Kavan had 12. Edyn Sudbeck (Wynot, Neb.) added 27 assists and 14 digs, while Elizabeth Christensen (Stanton, Neb.) had 12.

The Hawks face No. 1 Iowa Central Community College at 7 p.m. Wednesday in an ICCAC match in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
