As the state’s horse racing sector expands, Nebraska Extension’s equine program has unveiled a series of educational seminars to cater to the growing interest in the industry.
The Nebraska Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association (HPBA) is sponsoring a “Race Nebraska Seminar” on Oct. 7, 2023, at the Animal Science Complex on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s East Campus, 3940 Fair St.
There will be a variety of presentations to help guide individuals interested in both owning and raising racehorses.
Topics will include:
- Different types of ownership options;
- Soundness evaluation from a veterinarian’s point of view;
- Different types of sales;
- Reading pedigrees; and
- an update on the status of tracks and facilities in Nebraska.
