SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Balanced scoring continued to be the cornerstone of Morningside University’s court success Saturday, Dec. 4.

For a 15th consecutive contest, the Mustangs put three-or-more players in double figures to help stave off a game Mount Marty University squad in Great Plains Athletic Conference action. Senior center Trey Brown (Gretna, Neb.) led the way, totaling 15 points to mark his 38th straight double-digit total to headline an evening in which he moved to No. 12 on the all-time scoring register. The freshman-sophomore perimeter pair of forward Justin Sitti (Omaha, Neb.) and Aidan Vanderloo (Sioux City, Iowa) scored 11 points.

Morningside’s road to going 7-1 overall and 5-0 in the league was kickstarted by tallying 15 of the first 22 points. Head coach Trent Miller’s crew built their lead to as much as 17 in the second half before the Lancers made a strong surge down the stretch and cut the margin to five in the last minute.

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ No. 18-ranked program starts eight straight on the road Wednesday, Dec. 8. It’s the first edition of the River City Rivalry between Morningside and Briar Cliff University. Game time is 7:45 p.m. at BCU’s Newman Flanagan Center.
