FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University has announced its 2022 football schedule. The Warriors went 6-5 a season ago, in head coach Jeff Jamrog‘s sixth season. They return a solid core of players from last year’s team on both sides of the ball.
Midland opens the season on August 27 in Fremont with their lone non-conference game of the year against the University of St. Mary. The Spires went 3-7 in 2021 under coach Lance Hinson who will be entering his third season.
The Warriors will begin their slate of games in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) the following week with a home game against Hastings College. Midland will play a total of six home games this season, hosting the University of Jamestown, Morningside University, Concordia University, and Dordt University at Heedum Field in Fremont.
Their first test away comes in week three with a rivalry game at Doane University on September 10. They’ll also travel to Mount Marty University, Briar Cliff University, and Northwestern College in GPAC play.
“We are very optimistic about the 2022 Midland Warrior football team,” commented Coach Jamrog. “We have a great nucleus coming back from last year and some very talented newcomers that will make an impact. We are excited that Warrior fans will be able to come out and support our team with six home games this year being played at Heedum Field.”
