Some much-needed moisture put harvest on pause in Central Nebraska.

Creighton Peterson of Peterson & Sons Farms near Bertrand said despite the dry conditions throughout the summer, so far, he’s been pleasantly surprised with his irrigated soybean crop.

Peterson said they battled some small, pea-sized hail last week but it didn’t seem to impact their crops too much. Surprisingly, too, he said corn has dried down at a normal, or even slower pace, despite recent dryness.

Hear more updates on Peterson’s operation in this episode of Fridays in the Field.
