The Raiders went scoreless over the final 3:36 of overtime as McCook Community College claimed a 74-69 win at the Raider Fieldhouse on Tuesday night.

Regulation was close throughout as CCC’s biggest lead was seven in the second quarter. Central held a slim lead at the half, 36-34. In the final period of regulation, the Raiders led by five points on two occasions before the Indians forced overtime. In the extra session, CCC’s Macey Thege tied the game at 69 apiece with 3:36 to play, but it was the last time the Raiders would score.

Amy Mitchell led three CCC players in double figures with 19 points while Brittney Veik scored 18 points. Madisen Jelinek logged a double double with 12 points and 17 rebounds.

“While we let one slip away, I am very proud of our team and the fight we had against McCook,” said CCC head coach Billy Perkins.

The loss is the third straight for the Raiders and gives them a 5-3 record for the season.

Up next, CCC will meet Iowa Lakes Community College in the Pinnacle Bank Thanksgiving Classic on Sunday. Game time is set for 3 p.m. at the Raider Fieldhouse.
