Benefit to be held at end of June for Uehling Woman battling Cancer
June 16th, 2021 | Jeff Axtell and Doug Anderson

A benefit will be held next Friday at the Uehling Auditorium for Kaitlyn Mahnke, who is battling Thyroid Cancer. Kaitlyn’s mother, Correy Mahnke, tells KTIC News about her fight against cancer.

Mahnke says the second half of her thyroid was taken out in December and had to wait until January for her to heal up and then she went through a radioactive iodine treatment that was supposed to kill off any cancer that they couldn’t remove with just the thyroid.

Mahnke says they caught a tough break in April.

The benefit begins at 6:00 p.m. Mahnke has the details.

To donate a live or silent auction, call Kari Johnson at 402-380-4478 or go to First Northeast Bank of Nebraska in Uehling to make a monetary donation if unable to attend.
