Area Golfers Perform Well at C and D Boys Districts

Boys Golf District meets were held on Monday for Classes C and D.

At the C-2 meet in Fremont, Tekamah-Herman was the team runner-up, with a total score of a 349, and qualifies for state as a team. Brody Rogers led the team, placing 5th with an 80. Other members of the team are Bret Brenneis, Brock Rogers, Jason Hoover and Thatcher Zink.

Carson Thomsen of Oakland-Craig qualified for state, placing 4th with a 79.

Kolton Kriete of Logan View placed 8th with an 85, qualifying for state.

At the D-2 meet in Beemer, Howells-Dodge was the team champion, scoring a 366 and qualifying for state as a team. Brady Lund placed 4th with an 86, Austin Hegemann was 7th with a 92, Kellen Fiala and Cole Grovijohn placed 9th and 10th, each shooting a 94. Gavin Nelson is also a member of the team.

GACC had two state qualifiers, as Ryan Hrbek placed 3rd with an 86 and Livia Hunke placed 5th with a 90.

At the D-3 meet in Osmond, Pender was the team champion, shooting a 346 and qualifying for state as a team. Mitchell Kelly placed 3rd with an 84, Quinton Heineman was 4th, also with an 84, Layton Gralheer was 8th with an 89, Trey Johnson also shot an 89, placing 9th. Spencer Rabbass is also on the team.

Boys State Golf will be Tuesday and Wednesday, May 24 and 25.

Class C state will be at the Elks Country Club in Columbus. Class D will be at Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte.
