Kenneth Dale Dixon was born January 28, 1937, to Orval and Marie (Jensen) Dixon in rural Lyons Nebraska.

Kenny graduated from Lyons High School in 1954 and attended trade school in Chicago. He did construction work all his life, also driving a feed truck and working at the lumberyard in Lyons.

Kenny was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Lyons, where he was on the session board for many years doing repairs that the church needed and singing in the church choir. He was a Boy Scout leader for 35 years, receiving numerous awards including the silver beaver. He was a hunter safety instructor for 33 years, teaching youth to respect a firearm.

Kenny had many loves in his life, but his children and grandkids were always first. He gave to others, even if it meant him doing without. He enjoyed gardening; remember onions rows have to be planted north and south. He liked fishing; carp were his favorite. He loved hunting; watching the grandsons bringing in a flock of geese was pure joy. He enjoyed cooking; we didn’t ask, we just ate it, He cherished watching his grandkids’ ball games and going to their music concerts. He was always up for calling one last square dance. Oh, the stories he could tell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Helen and brother, Roy.

He is survived by his children, DarRay (Mike) Tripp of Treynor, IA, Montgomery (Paula) Dixon of Carson, IA, Brian Dixon of Fairbanks, AK, Michael Dixon of Sun City, AZ, Nathaniel (Betty) Dixon of Craig NE; Scott Coates, whom he loved and thought of as a son, of Oakland; brother, Chris (Lauretta) Dixon of Columbus, NE; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
