Jerry Pacas, 76, of Schuyler

Jerry Pacas, 76, of Schuyler passed away Monday, September 30, 2024 at the Clarkson Care Center. 

In lieu of flowers, plants, and statues, memorials may be suggested in care of the family.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 3, at 10:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Schuyler. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 2, from 5-7 p.m. at Svoboda Moravec Johnson Mortuary in Schuyler. Visitation will resume Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Church. Burial will be in the Schuyler Cemetery. Lunch will follow at the Presbyterian Social Hall. Moravec Johnson Mortuary is handling arrangements for the family. 

Jerry Pacas was born on January 22, 1948 to Adolph and Emily (Stepan) Pacas in Columbus, Nebraska. He graduated from Schuyler High School in 1966. Jerry was united in marriage to Arlys Specht on July 10, 1971 at the Methodist Church in Schuyler. Four kids were born to this union.

Jerry worked at Camaco in Columbus for over 30 years. He was a big fan of all sports but loved watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals and attended several games. He also loved to watch the Huskers, Schuyler Warriors, Chicago Cubs, and the Dodgers. Jerry liked to camp and sightsee, going on walks, bike rides, and swimming.

He loved all his grandchildren and going to their football and basketball games.

He is survived by his wife, Arlys, children, Gene (Beth) Pacas, Sandra (Mike) Kurpgeweit, Brad (Kristien) Pacas, Curt Pacas, bother, Larry Pacas, grandchildren: Josh (Evelin) Pacas, Jeremy Pacas, Alex (Miranda) Pacas, Julia (Tyler Glenn) Pacas, Kayla Pacas, Autumn (Marcus) McBride, Andrew Pacas, Bianca Pacas, Amy Pacas, Abigail Pacas, Ashley (Suresh) Kisson, Anna Pacas, Jolene O’berg, great-grandchildren: Anilie Pacas, Ariana Pacas, Joshua Jr. Pacas, Aubree Pacas, Mia McBride, Aria McBride, Landon Kisson, Zayne Kisson, Kaylee Glenn.

He is preceded in death by his parents Adolph and Emily, sister Judy, grandson Adam, in-laws Ralph and Blanche Specht, brother-in-law David Specht, nephew Douglas Specht.
