Jeannine E. Klitz age 93, of Fremont, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the Crowell Memorial Home in Blair, Nebraska. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont. Rev. Nicholas Mishek will officiate. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Monday afternoon at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church Cemetery in Dodge. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. all at Moser’s in Fremont. Jeannine was born March 16, 1929 in Fremont to Gustav and Philomena (Glodowski) Stigge. She grew up at Dodge, Nebraska and married, Leonard S. Klitz on June 24, 1948 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. After marriage, they farmed near Dodge, until moving to Fremont in 1985. Leonard preceded her in death on May 3, 2001.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont, Joan of Arc Circle at St. Pats and was a former member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge.
Jeannine is survived by her son, Robert (Debra) Klitz of Dodge; daughters, Carol Klitz of Minneapolis, MN, Barbara (Richard) Ortmeier of Blair and Geraldine (Mark) Berens of Houston, TX; brothers, Rodney (Kay) Stigge and Patrick Stigge, all of Omaha, NE; 9 grandchildren, Julie (Mark) Edmonds, Michelle (Steve) Martinez, Vicki (Pete) Edghill, Lindsey (Steven) Stumpe, Dustin (Noel) Klitz, Scott (Julie) Berens, Sarah (Volker) Donabaum and Matthew (Lailyn) Berens. and 13 great-grandchildren and one due in June.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Ruth (Don) McLaughlin; brothers, Gustav G. (Agnes) Stigge, Walden Stigge and infant, Kenneth; sisters, Dorothy (Mel) Vitek, Marilyn Pospishil and infant, Patricia: and granddaughter, Tracy Ortmeier-Henningsen.
