Joan Marilyn (Vogt) Moeller, 89, of Pender, NE passed away on November 8, 2022, at the Pender Community Hospital.  The visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.  The funeral service will be on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in rural Pender.  Burial will be in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.

Joan was born June 6, 1933, to John and Bertha (Westerhold) Vogt. She was baptized on July 2, 1933, and confirmed on June 9, 1946, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, west of Pender. Joan attended school at District 71 in Cuming County for eight years and graduated from Pender High School in May 1950. On July 15, 1951, she married Norman Moeller at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. To this union, four children were born. Keith, Sandra, Cathy, and Kent. After Norman returned from Korea, they farmed west of Pender for 12 years before moving to their farm southwest of Pender where they lived for 41 years. Norman and Joan moved to Pender in 2007.

Joan taught Sunday School for many years. She was a charter member of WELCA at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Norman and Joan were sponsors of Luther League and Joan enjoyed singing in the choir at church. In 1983, Joan began working at Pender State Bank where she worked for 20 years. She enjoyed working with customers and her co-workers. Norman and Joan belonged to the same card club for almost 60 years. They enjoyed traveling with family and friends and especially enjoyed visiting California to spend time with Kent, Carrie, and granddaughter Kierra.

Norman and Joan celebrated 71 years of marriage in July. She is survived by her husband, Norman; children, Keith (Dee) Moeller of Pender, Sandra (David) Hoesch of Lincoln, Cathy (Jeff) Erwin of Norfolk, and Kent (Carrie) Moeller of Las Flores, CA.  She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Tracy (Josh) Houtz, Cason and Carley, Ryan (Mandy) Moeller and Ivy, Rochelle Kai, Angelynn (Stephen) Meidinger and Parker, Shana (Cody) Siebrandt, Aurelia and Kinzlee, Brenn (Kylie) Kai, Leo and Eloise, Blake (Randa) Kai, Graham, Adeline, Aidan, and Brooks, Christopher (Marivel) Kai and Eliana, Jenna (Zach) Schiffbauer, Mason and Olivia, Nicole Erwin (Jordan DeBose), Tricen and Emmanuel, Tyler (Morgan) Erwin, Kierra Moeller. She is survived by brothers, Lester (Edine) Vogt and Gerald Vogt; sister, Sharon (Richard) Daberkow; sister-in-law, Pauline Westerhold and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister Janice Ann Vogt; in-laws, Reverend Victor and Ida Moeller; sister, Eileen (Richard) Myers; brother-in-law, Reverend Paul (Shirley) Moeller; sister-in-law, Janet Vogt; sister-in-law, Berniece (Walt) Whipple; brother-in-law, Marvin Westerhold; sister-in-law, Thelma Moeller; and infant grandson, Jason Erwin.
