Irrigation systems keep Nebraska’s corn, soybean crops on pace | 2022 Fridays in the Field | Ep. 15

August 12th, 2022

Irrigation systems are staying busy this year to keep Nebraska’s corn and soybean crops on pace throughout the growing season.

Creighton Peterson, a farmer near Bertrand, has taken advantage of his ability to irrigate. Last year, Peterson took part in the National Corn Growers Association Yield Contest.

As Peterson keeps his irrigation systems running this year to keep his crops growing, he said if the weather cooperates until harvest, he has a good chance of high corn yields again this year.

Clay Patton visited Peterson & Sons Farm near Bertrand, Nebraska, for an update on their corn and soybeans.

Peterson said “he looks forward to harvesting around the first or second week in September.”

His nephew Clay Peterson also participated in the interview.
