OVERTON – The Loomis Wolves used a dominant run game and an opportunistic defense to roll over the Overton Eagles 44-0 on Friday night. Loomis had nearly 300 yards on the ground and scored three defensive/specialty teams touchdowns in route to the win.
The Wolves set the tone early as they scored on their first possession with a 13-play drive that took five minutes off the clock, it was capped by a three-yard touchdown run by Shay Swanson. After an interception on their next drive Clay Meyer recovered an Overton fumble in the end zone, to give the Wolves a two touchdown lead.
Swanson scored on a 30 yard run and then again on a 63 yard fumble recovery. Gunnar Hadley had 108 yards rushing including a 19 yard touchdown run. Kale Nelson added to the lead with a 35 yard punt return touchdown, finally Damian Jensen scored from 38 yards out to finish out the scoring.
It’s the second win in a row for the Wolves as they move to 2-2. With the loss, the Eagles drop to 0-4.
